Cathleen C. Gilbert represents individuals, businesses, estate fiduciaries and beneficiaries
in a variety of areas, including general business counseling, estate planning, probate,
estate and trust administration, gifting and other general tax and business planning
matters. She has counseled business entities and individuals since 1994.
After working in three small to mid-sized law firms, and building a reputation for
honest advice and representation, Cathleen Gilbert formed Gilbert Law Office in
October 2006.
Cathleen C. Gilbert takes the role of outside
general legal counsel as she advises business entities and negotiates and drafts
corporate agreements, and organizes business and tax-free entities.
Ms. Gilbert works in assisting business owners and individuals
by drafting estate and probate documents, petitioning to obtain guardianships and
conservatorships, providing legal counsel for fiduciaries and beneficiaries in the
probate of estates, and representing clients in negotiating domestic agreements
and divorce.
Ms. Gilbert was voted by her peers
throughout Utah as one of Utah’s “Legal Elite” in 2007 and 2011 in the category of Wills,
Trusts and Estates, as published in the Utah Business Magazine.
Ms. Gilbert has a strong background in
business. In addition to her license to practice law, Ms. Gilbert
is licensed as a C.P.A. Prior to attending law school, she worked
over five years as an Certified Public Accountant for the international accounting
firm of Deloitte & Touche and taught at the University of
Utah, College of Business.
